The Impact of Emotional Intelligence on Vocational Interests among Palestinian Students

The purpose of the study was to identify the impact of emotional intelligence on vocational interests among Palestinian students. A sample of 333 students in the southern Hebron district participated in the study. Data was analysed using SPSS. The results showed that Palestinian students had a high level of emotional intelligence and a moderate level of vocational interests. Emotional intelligence appeared as an innovative prediction of vocational interests. The consequences of the findings for practice are highlighted

أثر استخدام تطبيقي جوجل ومايكروسوفت في تنمية مهارات التعليم عن بُعد لدى معلمي المدارس الخاصة في مأدبا

هدف المقال إلى استقصاء الاحتياجات التدريبية اللازمة لتنمية مهارات المعلمين في التعليم عن بُعد، وتلبيتها من خلال دورات متخصصة على تطبيقي جوجل ومايكروسوفت. وقد تكونت عينة الدراسة من (31) معلمًا ومعلمة من المدارس الخاصة من مدينة مأدبا، تم اختيارهم بالطريقة القصدية، واعتمدت الدراسة على تصميم مكون من مجموعتين تجريبيتين مستقلتين، حيث تضمن ذلك تطبيق بطاقة الملاحظة أداة للقياس (القبلي والبعدي)، وتم عقد دورة تدريبية للمعلمين لتنمية مهارات التعليم عن بُعد، باستخدام تطبيقات جوجل للمجموعة الأولى، وتطبيقات مايكروسوفت للمجموعة الثانية. وأظهرت النتائج أن هنالك أثراً واضحاً للستخدام تطبيقي جوجل ومايكروسوفت لتنمية مهارات التعليم عن بُعد لدى عينة الدراسة، وعدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً (0.05 = α) في تنمية مهارات التعليم عن بُعد يعزى لاستخدام أي من التطبيقين في التعليم عن بُعد. وأوصت الدراسة بضرورة الاهتمام بتحديد الاحتياجات التدريبية للمعلمين في مجال التعليم عن بُعد، من خلال إعداد دورات تدريبية لتنمية وتطوير مهاراتهم. The article aimed to investigate the necessary training needs to develop teachers’ skills in distance education, through specialized courses based on Google and Microsoft applications. The study sample consisted of (31) male and female teachers from private schools in Madaba, They were chosen by the intentional method, and the study relied on a design consisting of two independent experimental groups. Which includes an observation card as a measurement tool for both pre and post. A training course was performed for teachers to develop their skills in distance education for the first group via Google applications, and for the second group via Microsoft applications. The results showed that there is a clear effect of using Google and Microsoft applications to develop distance education skills among the study sample, and there are no statistically significant differences (α = 0.05) in developing distance education skills, due to the use of both applications.The study recommends the importance of identifying the training needs of teachers in the field of distance education, through preparing training courses to develop and enhance their skills

Emotional Stability among the Ex-detainees Palestinian Children from Israeli Prisons

The objectives of the study were to identify the emotional stability among the ex-detainees Palestinian children from Israeli prisons. Emotional stability scale was administrated to 299 children using the stratified random sampling method. The findings revealed that the ex-detainees Palestinian children experienced a low level of emotional stability. These results confirmed the traumatic experiences on the personality of the ex-detainees Palestinian children from Israeli prisons. The consequences of the findings for practice are highlighted

Secondary organising pneumonia caused by denosumab

Introduction: Organising pneumonia belongs to diffuse interstitial lung diseases; we distinguish the cryptogenic organising pneumonia, which is idiopathic, from the secondary organising pneumonia caused by drugs or a defined cause. Denosumab is a human monoclonal antibody, rarely inducing adverse pulmonary effects. Case description: A 57-year-old female patient was admitted to our chest clinic for acute respiratory distress. She was treated with denosumab for severe osteoporosis. The patient described a dry cough and dyspnoea over the previous four months, increased after the last injection of denosumab. A high-resolution computed tomography scan showed bilateral basal parenchymal condensations. The aetiological investigation did not reveal any infectious or immunological origin. The favourable computed tomography imaging and clinical evolution after corticosteroid therapy led to the diagnosis of drug-induced organising pneumonia. Conclusion: Denosumab could induce organising pneumonia. Therefore, clinicians should be aware of this pulmonary toxicity

Risk-based internal auditing among the Palestinian joint stock companies listed in Palestine Exchange

‌The study aimed to investigate the extent to which risk-based internal auditing is applied in the Palestinian joint stock companies listed in Palestine Exchange. The study approached the literature as a multi-dimensional phenomenon، which addressed both theoretical and applied research. The significance of this recent study is the first، which dealt with this theme، to the author knowledge، which in turn encourages other researchers to work on further research on this important issue. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌The study adopted the quantitative research approach using the survey method. The questionnaire is appropriate for the exploratory nature of the research، which consists of 41-items that was divided into six sub-scales. The target population consists of internal auditors in the Palestinian joint stock companies listed in Palestine Exchange، that includes 53 internal auditors. The collected data was statistically analyzed using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). The findings revealed that the participants experienced a moderate level of the risk-based internal auditing application in the Palestinian joint stock companies listed in Palestine Exchange. The mean scores and standard deviation were (M 3.44 SD 68.74) The results of the study revealed significant statistical differences in the risk-based internal auditing application among the internal auditors due to educational level,major,and the company's no statistical significant differences were found in the rest of the study variables. ‌‌These findings confirm the value of risk-based internal auditing in the Palestinian companies in general, and in these listed in Palestine Exchange in particular، and recommend the need for these companies to adopt a risk-based auditing approach; the need to continue developing the internal auditing profession through the continuous training programs; the follow up of the recent developments on this profession to address the ever-renewable risks; and finally, further research is essential in the area of risk-based internal auditing using the qualitative research design
